Slumdog Millionaire

III. Muhammad born in the slums of Mumbai has been chosen to attend a quiz show Who wants to be a Millionaire? He is accused of cheating and taken to an interrogation room where he is beat by officials, until he tells them how he answered the questions right. We transition straight into a flashback where Muhammad is telling his life story as a child and how he came to know all of the answers to the quiz show.

Muhammad starts off knowing a friend who watch many movies and he knew the characters. They were close and they got a new even lived together. Muhammad did not have any parents and was an orphan for all of his life living with different families and meeting new people. He traveled a lot to find a better life a stable one where he can live in peace and escape the horrors of his past. He learns new things along the way, which help him answer all of the questions, some where pure guesses. But most were from his devastating experiences.

IV. "I HAVE BEEN ARRESTED. For winning a quiz show" (Swarup 9).

V. This is how Swarup starts out his book providing suspense for his readers. He wants to let you know the outcome right from the start so that it grabs the reader's attention leading them to want to know more about the arrest. Mohammad is in an interrogation room being tortured by the police who believed that Mohammad cheated during the show. How could a boy from the slums get all these questions right?
